This Acceptable Use Policy explains how Hostira services may and may not be used. It applies to all hosting accounts, domains, email services, files, databases, scripts, applications and customer activity connected with Hostira services.
Customers must use Hostira services only for lawful purposes. Any use that violates applicable laws, regulations, registrar policies, upstream provider rules or Hostira service policies is strictly prohibited.
Customers must not host, store, publish, transmit or distribute illegal content, phishing pages, malware, exploit kits, botnets, scam pages, impersonation content, pirated software, nulled scripts, stolen data, illegal downloads or content that violates intellectual property rights.
Phishing, credential theft, banking fraud, fake login pages, malware distribution, malicious redirects, drive-by downloads, ransomware, spyware, trojans and any form of cyber abuse are strictly prohibited.
Accounts involved in such activity may be suspended immediately without prior notice to protect the server, network, upstream provider and other customers.
Customers must not send spam, unsolicited bulk email, phishing email, spoofed messages, mail bombing campaigns, malicious attachments or messages that violate anti-spam rules.
Compromised email accounts, weak passwords, open relay activity or bulk mailing that damages IP reputation may result in email restriction, account suspension or termination.
Customers must not use excessive CPU, RAM, I/O, processes, inodes, database resources, bandwidth or email sending capacity in a way that affects server stability or other customers.
Hostira may restrict, throttle or suspend accounts causing high load, repeated crashes, abusive scripts, runaway processes, heavy cron jobs, database overload or abnormal resource usage.
Customers must not run crypto mining, open proxy services, public VPN services, spam tools, mass mailing tools, botnets, DDoS tools, illegal streaming, file leeching, torrent trackers, warez distribution or any high-risk service without written approval.
Customers are responsible for keeping websites, CMS installations, plugins, themes, scripts, passwords, databases and email accounts secure. Outdated or vulnerable applications must be updated, patched or removed.
If a website is compromised, the customer must cooperate with cleanup, password resets, plugin updates, malware removal and any security instructions provided by Hostira.
Scripts, bots, crawlers, scrapers, cron jobs and automation tools must not overload the server, bypass third-party rules, abuse external services or create network reputation issues.
Hostira may disable or restrict scripts that cause high server load, excessive requests, abusive outbound connections or repeated security alerts.
Customers must not host copyrighted material, pirated software, cracked themes, nulled plugins, unauthorized media, trademark-infringing content or other intellectual property violations.
Hostira may act on valid copyright, trademark or abuse complaints by removing access, suspending services or requesting corrective action.
Customers must not use Hostira services for harassment, threats, extortion, hate-inciting content, illegal marketplaces, fraud, impersonation, financial scams, fake investment schemes or any activity that creates legal, reputational or operational risk.
Customers must not attempt unauthorized access, port scanning, vulnerability scanning, brute force attacks, password attacks, network probing, packet spoofing or any activity that targets Hostira infrastructure, other customers or third-party systems.
Hosting accounts must not be used mainly as backup storage, file dump storage, mirror storage, archive storage or download repository unless the selected service explicitly allows such usage.
If Hostira receives abuse complaints from data centers, registrars, security researchers, legal authorities, blacklist operators or third parties, Hostira may investigate the service, restrict access, suspend the account, preserve logs and request corrective action.
Customers must respond quickly to abuse notices. Failure to respond or repeated complaints may result in permanent termination.
Hostira may suspend, restrict or terminate services without prior notice in serious cases involving phishing, malware, spam, fraud, illegal content, server abuse, network abuse, legal risk or repeated policy violations.
Suspension does not remove the customer’s responsibility for unpaid invoices, cleanup work, third-party claims or damages caused by prohibited activity.
Services suspended or terminated due to violation of this Acceptable Use Policy may not be eligible for refund, account credit or compensation.
Hostira reserves the right to determine whether a customer activity violates this policy. Enforcement may include warning, restriction, suspension, removal of content, service termination, refusal of future service or reporting to relevant authorities where required.
